A conscious lyricist and soul singer who specializes in dynamic vocal arrangements and melodic guitar lines, Alec Martini has been performing all over the East Coast since he was 15. Now, more than a decade later, and after a 6 year hiatus from releasing music, he is back with a lot to say and the ability to say it. Having recently returned to NYC from LA, after a four year adventure that took him from Brooklyn -> Appalachian Trail -> a remote farm in the redwoods of Northern CA -> and finally to LA where he teamed up with friend and collaborator Julian “J3P0” Pollack and 6x Grammy winning mastering engineer Adam Ayan, he is back on the East Coast to share the project that his travels created. His debut LP, "Vestige", best described as soulful vocals over lush vocal arrangements, with rich instrumental production and tight, groovy, and organic rhythm sections, is out NOW. Drawing from influences that span from Matt Corby and Leon Bridges to guitar legend Derek Trucks to contemporary genrebenders Still Woozy and Anderson. Paak, his music has evolved from singer song-writer/blues guitar playing to an honest blend of soul, gospel, blues, RnB, folk, rock, and pop. With nearly a decade of being a professional producer, session player, engineer, and composer for films, he has vastly expanded his musical toolbox and vocabulary, bringing to you a sound that is both genuine and original. With a vintage yet hi-fi aesthetic that emphasizes real and strong instrumental and vocal performances over midi and over-reliance on today’s studio performance enhancers, his music translates well to the stage, where he bears his soul through his voice and guitar backed by some of the New York’s best jazz musicians.
